A number of the projects I stage involve selling an inherited house. This beautiful 5,000 square foot home is just a few blocks from the Santa Fe plaza and was originally built in 1860 as officers’ quarters for Fort Marcy. An addition was added in 2003 and the one acre property also had a lovely casita.

The former homeowners had a wonderful art collection and I chose pieces from their collection to include in the staging, packing away what I wasn’t going to use. I hired professionals to take care of a few deferred maintenance projects, such as patching and touching up the diamond plaster walls. I brought in a few items from my staging warehouse and in two weeks the home was ready to show.

This home received an offer within twenty-four hours and the sale closed within a month. After the sale, the clients retained me to manage the process of clearing out the home for the new homeowners.
