Working in Santa Fe, I’ve staged many homes with “unique” floor plans, and this home is a prime example. Just off the master bedroom is a pass through room, leading to a larger extension. Where someone might be tempted to just stage the large extension room as a den and call it a day, I wanted to inspire potential buyers with the light, the kiva fireplace, and the view — so I opted to stage it as an art studio and office.
As for the pass through room, I needed to show how the space could be used, in a way that considered the possibility of passing foot traffic as people moved through the home. This inspired me to designate the room as an exercise/yoga space with a reading nook — proving that odd spaces can happily work with a little creative thinking.
