SHOWHOME

Arbolitos Lane | 2019

This showhome from Arete Homes of Santa Fe had so many beautiful elements to play off of. I went with a soft, meditative color palette of dusty aqua and cream with touches of navy and dark rust to play off of the clean white woodwork and blonde hardwood floors. The living room built-ins were particularly impressive — especially in a new construction home. Instead of jamming the shelves full of decorative items, I worked in negative space to allow the eye to rest. In the dining room, I selected chairs with a nail head detail that complemented the modern light fixture that came with the home. Open-concept floor plans are very popular now and they require certain considerations when decorating and staging. I blend the textures and colors to create a harmonious look, balancing the space between spaciousness and the warmth of livability. The bedroom had such a wonderful view, I made sure to arrange everything to draw attention to the window.
